The college graduation season has drawn to a close. Wenjiang's government has sent staff members from different departments to colleges and universities in the district to provide door-to-door services, helping them to deal with problems that they might have encountered in the graduation procedures.
The Wenjiang's public security bureau sends police officers to all the colleges and universities in their jurisdiction to help the graduates move their hukou, or household registration record, from their colleges to somewhere else. In addition, the public security bureau has started a 24-hour hotline for graduates to inquire about policies and the handling process concerning hukou. So far, Wenjiang's public security bureau has sent officers to seven colleges and universities and settled hukou matters for more than 3,500 graduates.
Meanwhile, Wenjiang's personnel exchange service center is working hard to help graduates get a job. Since the beginning of 2014, it has organized five large job fairs in campuses in Wenjiang district and offered nearly 300 job opportunities for graduates. Additionally, the center encourages graduates to start their own business, gives them financial support and gives them practical experience. The center has supported 171 self-employed graduates and given out subsidies of 450,000 yuan ($72,500).
