Chengdu listed in "Top 10 Green Eco-cities" in China

On Aug 15, Chengdu won the honor of being in the "Top 10 Green Eco-cities for Pleasant Tours in China" through the voting of thousands of China Comment's readers and netizens over more than 4 months.

This forum was themed "Discover • Enjoy • Create" and aimed to discuss jointly the construction of a beautiful China, while discovering and creating a more satisfactory tourist attraction. On that day, Liu Ji, the former Special Commissioner of the State Council and Director of Research Center for Contemporary China, Xu Baoguo, Vice Chairman of China Culture Administration Association, Ministry of Culture, Du Jiang, Deputy Director-general of the China National Tourism Administration, Zhang Zhengxian, Editor-in-chief of Xinhua News Agency’s China Comment Magazine, some travel experts and representatives of the cities awarded attended the prize-giving ceremony and the tourism development forum. Zhang Jiangzhou, Secretary of the Leading Party Group of Urumqi Municipal Tourism Bureau, was also present.

The prize winners included ten cities, namely Kunming in Yunnan province, Chengdu in Sichuan, Urumqi in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Yancheng in Jiangsu, Wuzhou in Guangxi, Yanqing County in Beijing, Baishan in Jilin province, Caixun District in Wuhan, Hubei province, Hui County in Gansu province and Fenghuang County in Hubei.
