Panda Lantern Show to open in mid-February

The 47th Chengdu Panda Lantern Show will take place from Feb 16 to March 15 in Tazishan Park. The price will be 40 yuan ($6.4) from the beginning to March 5, the Lantern Festival, and 25 yuan after that.

The lantern show will display seven large groups of lanterns under different themes such as “A Bite of China”, where lanterns form different dishes of Chinese food, “Merry Christmas”, where many colorful balls compose a Christmas tree, and “Happy Year of the Goat”, where a translucent membrane covers numerous LEDs and forms five energetic goats to welcome in the Chinese year of the goat.

Kids under 6 or no taller than 1.3 meters, the elderly over 60 and the disabled can visit the show for free. Students can get a 30 percent discount with their student’s identity card.
