Wenjiang district in Southwest China's Chengdu will increase spot inspections to prevent any market price speculation during the Spring Festival. Inspections will particularly focus on products essential for people's daily lives as well as passenger transport mediums and tourism facilities.

Local government will regulate prices of essential consumption items and some service industries. . In case the price of any such product or services increases by more than 30 percent, officials will intervene in prices and punish the offenders.

Preventing excessive pricing or undeclared extra charges in tourism is also a key emphasis in the fight against market speculation. Wenjiang will crack down on arbitrary charges for tourist attraction entrance tickets, on illegal clamping and misleading advertising to establish confidence in local tourism market.

Meanwhile, the administration of commodity prices offers a 24/7 hotline at 12358 for consumers to raise questions and complaints about products and services they pay for.
