Alibaba Group was invited to Wenjiang district in Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan province, to share their experience with a group of local entrepreneurs on April 8.
The lecturer, Li Shangyang, an e-commerce expert from Alibaba Group, mainly talked about the significant role that e-commerce played in current economic development and explored its possible future developmental direction.
At the lecture, Li took Taobao’s “1111 online shopping festival” as a case study to analyze how a shopping site managed to dwarf all of America’s Black Friday and Thanksgiving online sales in one day.
“I have a clearer idea about what e-commerce is and how helpful it is to our business. I wait eagerly to see future direction of e-commerce,” said an attendee after the lecture.
Alibaba Group is China’s top e-commerce company that provides consumer-to-consumer, business-to-consumer and business-to-business sales services via web portals. Its current market value amounts to $212.5 billion.
