BASF opens training center in Chengdu

BASF SE, the world’s largest chemical producer based in Germany, inaugurated its new Automotive Refinish Competence Center (RCC) in Chengdu, Sichuan province on July 1.

As BASF’s first training center in West China, the new RCC serves as an education hub to help equip refinish spray coatings professionals with theoretical knowledge, skills and business know-how.

“Abundant development opportunities and rising automotive market in West China prompted us to build an RCC in Chengdu,” said Huang Yanchao, assistant manager of the Communications Department of Coatings Solutions at BASF (China).

BASF has established more than 70 RCCs around the world, including seven in China, namely in Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao and Foshan. Last year, about 20,000 professionals were trained in BASF’s RCCs worldwide.
