'West Lake' in Wenjiang

Wenjiang district in Chengdu, Sichuan province will have its own "West Lake" in 10 years' time.
"Chengdu West Lake" project that envisions creating a new tourism area in Wenjiang received a12 billion-yuan ($1.93 billion) investment on July 25 at the China (Sichuan) International Tourism Investment Conference.
It plans to develop an artificial lake, which is expected to imitate the West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, one of China’s most beautiful lakes. In the lake region, a leisure industrial cluster will also be built, integrating functions of hospitality, entertainment and catering sectors.
A series of 12 other tourism projects in Wenjiang with a value of 36.8 billion yuan also attracted investment from travel agencies, enterprises and financial institutions during the conference.
