10-km marathon to start in Wenjiang

All the participants who finish the Golden Wenjiang Half Marathon within three hours will be awarded medals, Wenjiang News reported on Sept 28.

The Golden Wenjiang Half Marathon will take place in Shou’an town in Wenjiang district, Chengdu, on Oct 18.

In addition to special medals for all runners who finish the 10-km game in the set time, the top three participants will receive prizes such as outdoor watches and tablet computers.

Last year’s marathon in Wenjiang gave 2,500 runners a unique experience of running on the greenway along the river and through a forest, all of which makes Wenjiang district an ideal marathon site.

This year, the organizers – Wenjiang’s government and Sina – decided to expand the event’s scale to 6,000 participants, making the run the largest half-marathon in West China.
