Culinary culture is an important characteristic of Sichuan. Visitors can gain a comprehensive understanding of the 2,500 years of history of the gourmet culture in Sichuan region by visiting the Museum of Sichuan Cuisine.
The museum collects thousands of relics related to culinary characteristics and cooking including cooking utensils and food containers unearthed in Sichuan and books and pictures featuring typical Sichuan dishes. It also has tea houses and a small representative kitchen where visitors can taste some Sichuan specialties and green tea.
