If you visit Chengdu and don't try "chuan chuan xiang", you will miss out on one of the delicacies that embody the essence of Chengdu's cuisine culture. Customers select from a vast range of skewers of meat and vegetables, which are then cooked in a spicy soup. The numbing spice or "ma la" is a signature of Sichuan cuisine. The most popular dishes at Mr Liu's "chuan chuan xiang" are sweet potato noodles and marinated beef.
