Innovation competition heats up in Wenjiang

Sponsored by the Wenjiang district government, the second competition of Chengdu Medical City Cup Innovation Competition opened on Jan 6.

According to the competition sponsor, five senior employees from medical and investment enterprises were invited to judge the competition.

Some 12 competitors joined the competition with nine of them passing to the second round of the competition. As of now, 15 competitors have entered the second round of the competition, which according to the competition sponsor, will take place in the middle of February.

The competition final is scheduled to begin in March.

The innovation competition is aimed at promoting the integration of medical science, medical treatment and the pharmaceutical industry. Last June, a medical makerspace was launched in Wenjiang’s Chengdu Medical City, attracting 14 entrepreneurial groups and five new companies by the end of 2016.
