Nurses from Wenjiang People’s Hospital are making a difference by selling oranges to help remove the worries of a uremia patient.

Liao Jialin, 35, is a local orange planter who was diagnosed with uremia early last year. In August of 2016, Liao was transferred to Wenjiang People’s Hospital for treatment. According to the therapeutic schedule, Liao originally needed to receive three dialysis treatments a week.

“I’m feeling much better, I only need to do two dialysis treatments a week now”, Liao told doctors.

After talking to Liao, nurses from the hospital realized that Liao was worried about selling orange crop. “Now is the harvest time for oranges and my wife can’t manage all by herself,” Liao told Lei Suqiong, head nurse of the hospital.

Knowing Liao’s situation, Lei decided to organize nurses at the hospital to help Liao sell his oranges both online and in local markets during their spare time.

“I am also from an orchard growing family, and I can definitely understand the feeling when orchards need harvested,” said Lei.
