Yongsheng township advocates garbage sorting

Yongsheng, a township of Wenjiang district, Chengdu city, launched a publicity campaign on July 26 on garbage sorting to raise people’s awareness of environment protection.

The campaign included a collective signing ceremony, demonstration of garbage sorting, quiz and small games related to the theme.

Garbage sorting means putting garbage into different trash cans so that they can become new resources through different ways of cleaning, shipping and recycling.

Sun Qihua, deputy director Yongsheng, explained to an audience of 150 from all walks of life, the methods and advantages of garbage sorting, and called on them to pitch in for a greener environment.

The local government will continue popularizing the cause by adding five garbage sorting pilot sites across the township.
