Intl experts discuss city planning in Wenjiang

Cooperating with Halton Hills, which is an area of Toronto, Canada, Chengdu's Wenjiang district held the first Sustainable Regional Planning Forum on Sept 25.

Some 200 officials, experts and scholars from the two cities attended the forum and exchanged ideas on civic development through high-end green industries.
Wang Daoming, Party secretary of CPC committee of Wenjiang district, attended the forum and said, "Wenjiang will learn from the experiences of Halton Hills to strive for sustainable development."

Wenjiang district, a hub for healthcare and medical industries in the capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, aims to build itself into an international urban area for living and working. It requires re-planning and renovating to meet its goal.
Halton Hills is willing to help Wenjiang with its city planning and will cooperate with the region in the fields of trade, investment, education, culture and tourism.
The forum serves as a platform for the two regions to strengthen exchanges and mutual understanding and to promote international civic cooperation.
