The district's booming biotech industry owes its success mainly to the city's ample research infrastructure, which includes the West China Medical Center of Sichuan University, WuXi Pharmatech and Sichuan Kelun Industry Group. It is also home to some 20 universities, research institutes and national-level laboratories.
Chen said that to attract investment and further promote biotech development, the city district will continue to give support to involved companies and institutes.
