Chengdu's Wenjiang district signed a deal with a Dutch floral company Coloriginz on Nov 20 to cooperate in the import and export of plants.
According to the deals signed between Coloriginz and three local floral companies, the Dutch company should purchase flowers and plants worth 300 million Euro ($355.9 million) from 2017 to 2022. Additionally, the two sides will share the industry information to achieve common development.

The floral industry in Wenjiang is poised to grow from strength to strength with support from authorities as Chengdu government mapped out a plan in June to expand green areas, including a 30 percent growth in the floral coverage rate by 2022.
After 20 years of developments, Wenjiang has a total planting area of 200,000 mu (13,333 hectares). The floral industry has created a multitude of job opportunities for local residents, who have smartly combined flower production with processing and sales.
The district will grow more varieties of flowers and plants, and standardize the growing of plants in the future, hopefully, to catch up with Amsterdam, Netherlands, which is the world's biggest flower exporter.
