Wenjiang Red Cross participates in safe community construction

Ever since the safe community construction launched in 2012, the Red Cross of Wenjiang district has taken multiple efforts to play a positive role.

In the safe community construction, the main responsibilities of Wenjiang Red Cross are to train first-aiders and raise residents’ self-saving and mutual saving ability.

The district set up volunteer service team for emergency aid training and since it was established, it has trained more than 6000 first-aiders and popularized emergency knowledge to more than 30000 people.

The Red Cross uses its advantage in disaster prevention and reduction, eliminating potential safety hazard, assessing security risk, preventing safety accident and improving emergency aid system.

It publicizes emergency knowledge to the public and fully participates in the constructions of cultural square, cultural blocks and demonstration schools which are related to safety popularization. With such efforts, it not only publicized the spirit of Red Cross, but also enhanced people’s ability of self-rescue and mutual rescue.

So far, 10 towns of Wenjiang have passed provincial safety community assessment, among which six are carrying out national safety community construction.
