Wenjiang holds community cultural exchange party

A community cultural exchange party was held at Guanghua Park in Wenjiang district, Chengdu, Sichuan province on Nov 2.

Seven districts and counties in the province provided visitors with impressive performances. Each show was carefully arranged and had a strong "community style".

The "Flower Flying Dance" presented by the Wenjiang District Urban and Rural Community Culture Promotion Association received applause from the audience.

The dance is based on the dancing techniques of the intangible cultural heritage project "Dalianxiang". It featured strong local characteristics and integrated the concepts of inheritance, development, and innovation, demonstrating the positive and forward-looking spirit of Chengdu people.

The dance also expressed the desire of Chengdu people to build a happy and beautiful homeland.

There are also other performances, including the dance "Burning My Calories and Next Door Taishan", the shadow painting "Jinmahe Legend", the boxing and sword performance "42 Style Taijiquan", and the music allegro "Gaiwan Tea".

The performances showcased the communities' vitality, as well as their healthy, positive, happy, and harmonious mental outlook.

In order to promote the development of urban and rural communities, Wenjiang established seven hub-type social organizations last September.

"Community culture is the soul of community construction. Carrying out colorful and lively community cultural activities will help residents actively participate in community construction, which will benefit their body and mind, cultivate a good temperament, and help them maintain a healthy and uplifting mental state," said a representative of Wenjiang district.

The party is held to promote community cultural exchanges among different regions, develop a prosperous community spirit and culture, and unite people to build a beautiful, harmonious, and livable community.
