Wenjiang promotes Chengdu Medical City to seek cooperation

Sichuan•Hong Kong•Macao Cooperation Week was held on Nov 7 in Hong Kong. Representatives from Wenjiang promoted Chengdu Medical City at the promotional meeting.

In recent years, the health care industry has maintained rapid growth on a global scale, driven by factors like population, science and technology, medical reform, etc. Wenjiang district has taken the initiative to implement the national strategy "Healthy China", and put forward the concept of integrating medicine, medical science, and medical treatment.

With a precise layout of medical research and development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical application, and health tourism, Wenjiang is home to more than 300 leading tri-medical companies, attracting strong investment from insurance giants.

In addition, Wenjiang has assembled a world-class team including more than 20 colleges and universities, 39 academics in 85 key laboratories and R&D institutions, and over 200,000 creative intellectuals in the science and technology field.

Coordinating with 20 famous universities from home and abroad, including Harvard University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Zhejiang University, Wenjiang is empowered to co-build a healthy environment for industry, in which universities are at the core, pillar companies participate and interact intensively, and an efficient transformation of production and research is realized.

Wenjiang also boasts a precise backup system. It has enacted a range of policies for the transformation of industries, talents, and scientific and technological achievements.

In addition to a 1-billion-yuan industry guide fund, the Wenjiang government has also set up an industrial investment fund of 5 billion yuan with SB China Capital (SBCVC), Venture Capital Fund of the Chinese Academy of Science, and more.

Wenjiang also has 1.1 million square meters of apartments for future talents, a 2-million-square-meter professional innovation carrier, an 800,000-square-meter standard factory building, and a public service platform under construction.
