National center for social development established in Wenjiang

At a seminar on social governance and social work held in Wenjiang district, Chengdu from Dec 8 to 9, it was announced that a national scientific research center for social development would be established in Wenjiang.
Over 300 experts, scholars and social workers from nationally renowned universities shared their views on the development of China's social governance, and carried out discussions on the current state of social governance in the country, as well as the current practices of professional social workers.

The national scientific research center for social development will be established by the China Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) and Wenjiang district. It will allow Wenjiang to carry out research on social governance theories, and promote the application of these theories.
In order to create a community governance ecosphere, Wenjiang has set up a social work development team lead by the Party secretary of the district committee, special institutions and service centers in various districts and towns.
Wenjiang also introduced over 10 preferential policies and directives to support the development of social governance.
