ESPCP 2012 hails its success and Vice President Lu Zhongyuan attends the cvlosing ceremony

The 2012 Economic and Social Policy Consulting Program for Developing Countries (ESPCP), sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by DRC's Human resources Study and Training Center, was successfully held from July 30 to August 19. DRC Vice President Lu Zhongyuan addressed the closing ceremony which took place in Beijing on August 19. Mr. Zhu Liugui, Vice President of the Academy of International Business Officials under the Ministry of Commerce, also attended the meeting and spoke highly of the success of ESPCP on behalf of the sponsor. ESPCP 2012 was participated by 20 government officials and senior researchers from 11 developing countries in Asia and Africa. During the ESPCP seminars in Beijing, the leaders and senior researchers from DRC's relevant departments and institutes gave the participants the lectures systematically presented China's basic national conditions and development experiences, great achievements and huge challenges since China unveiled its reform and opening up campaign in 1978, as well as the major strategies and policy measures which strive to transform the development mode and restructure the economy. Participants also conducted field study in Chengdu and Mianyang of Sichuan Province and Taicang City in Jiangsu Province, including the visits to industrial enterprises, harbor, new rural communities and agricultural projects, etc. The foreign participants regarded highly of ESPCP and appreciated the fruitful study and visits of nearly three weeks which deepened their understanding of the great achievements and development experiences China has made over the last 30 years, as well as China's strategies, policies and countermeasures confronting the crises and challenges. They were deeply impressed by their personal experience of the dynamic economic and social development in China. They believe that though different countries have different national conditions, the certain key points of China's development ideas and experiences are of major significance to developing countries.
