A research group, led by Cheng Guoqiang, director general of General Office of the Development Research Center of the State Council, Zhang Hong, vice director general of the DRC’s Information Center, and Hou Weining, vice director general of the DRC’s Information Center, conducted research concerning health economics in Wenchuan county, Sichuan province, from July 4 to 6.

The group aimed to get a closer look at Wenchuan county’s measures and practices that were intended to build a sort of “health demonstration county”.

They hoped to find ways to improve the healthcare sector and to put forward recommendations on law making.
