Abstract:
In the years after the Western Development Strategy went into effect, the western part of China has achieved a lot, but there are still some contradictions and problems with, for example, the development mode, low urbanization, the weak integration of urban and rural areas, insufficient development, and the increased pressures of environmental protection.
So, during this new period of development, especially with economic transformation as the major task, there are still challenges in western development. There should have correct development concepts for new industrialization, central city construction work, improving marketing environments, and letting the governments play a more positive role in the scientific development of West China.
