The 2010 China-Sweden Innovation Forum jointly hosted by the Development Research Center of the State Council, Ministry of Science and Technology and the Embassy of Sweden was held on May 21, 2010 in Beijing. Mr. Li Keqiang, Vice Premier of the State Council, People’s Republic of China, His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, Mrs. Maud Olofsson, Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden attended the opening session of the forum and delivered speeches. DRC President Zhang Yutai gave the welcoming remarks and Ms Lv Wei, Director General of the Department of Techno-economy of DRC made a speech on innovative society. About 400 experts, business leaders and government officials participated in the discussions on the roles of government, market, education and business in promoting an innovative society.
