The Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC) conducted a research survey on the environmental supervision system and air pollution control in the UK, March 2-6, as part of a "Research on Regional Coordination Mechanism for China's Environment Supervision System and Air Pollution Control", which is sponsored by the China Prosperity Strategic Programme Fund (SPF).
Gao Shiji, director-general of DRC's Research Institute for Resources and Environment Policies, who was heading the research team, held meetings with officials and experts of UK's Department for Transport, Department of Health, Greater London Authority, Ricardo-AEA and the University of Oxford. They also had a field research on the local atmospheric environment monitoring station.
Chang Jiwen, vice-director-general of the DRC's Research Institute for Resources and Environment Policies, and associate research fellows Chen Jianpeng and Wang Haiqin, along with Zhu Jianping, vice-director, and Guo Congrong, division head, of the Monitoring Department of China's Ministry of Environmental Protection also joined the survey.
