Abstract: Since the 18th CPC National Congress, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping has made a series of scientific, forward-looking and systematic illustrations on the development of China’s cultural programs in the new era. His remarks are based on scientific theory and basic methodology and are the guidelines and fundamental rules on the development of cultural programs in the new era. Under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialist Culture with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, relevant departments of the central government have set out the goals, tasks and leading structure of China’s reform of the cultural sector, made clear the principles of core socialist values, unveiled guidelines on thriving socialist literature and art, formulated related policies for cultural trade and exchanges and made amendments to a series of laws and regulations. These efforts have greatly accelerated the advancement of cultural programs, laid a solid foundation for enhancing the socialist cultural soft power with Chinese characteristics and promoting the national rejuvenation and offered a Chinese approach toward cultural exchanges and mutual learning among the world people.
