Mr. Tony KOO, the Assistant Dean of Global Management Education Institute and Managing Director of MBA Center, Shanghai University was invited by XIME (Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship), India to attend the Conference of BRICS Business Schools held by XIME on January 30 to 31, 2009 in Bangalore, India. The Dean(s)/Associate Dean(s), Rector, Head(s) of business schools from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa attended the conference. During the conference, Mr. KOO presented the updates on “Management Education in China” to other participants.

Motivated by their desire to foster and strengthen cooperation and academic exchanges among Business Schools in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, collectively designated as BRICS, they established the Association of BRICS Business Schools (ABBS).
The objectives of ABBS are to promote and strengthen cooperation among contracting parties through various measures, including:

Visit Universidad Regiomontana in Mexico for International Fair 2009
Mr. MENG Tian (Terry), Assistant Managing Director of MBA Center represented MBA Center and Global Management Education Institute of Shanghai University to attend International Fair 2009 (February 14 – 17, 2009) held by Universidad Regiomontana in Mexico. He met the Mr. Carols, Director of International Office, Ms. Rossana Martínez Valdez and Ms. Angela, the International Program Coordinators during his visit.
Mr. Meng attended the welcome forum before the fair as Asian representative, which was titled as “Perspectives on Financial Crisis from Asian, America and Europe”. He introduced current situation of Shanghai and China in the crisis and the plan and action of Chinese government. His point of view on financial crisis under Chinese philosophy was highly commented by the audiences.
Other than the international fair, Universidad Regiomontana invited Mr. Meng specially to introduce development of Shanghai, Shanghai University and its GLMBA program during those days. Lots of local students showed their interesting on exchanging to GLMBA program after this.

Participation in EPAS Accreditation Seminar held by EFMD
MBA Center and Global Management Education Institute of Shanghai University (hereinafter as “MCGLMEI”) is committed to apply EPAS Accreditation of EFMD in the coming years. It sent its representative to attend EPAS Accreditation Seminar on March 5, 2009 in Brussels, Belgium. MCGLMEI is on the first step to apply the membership of EFMD now.
Visit to EABIS (European Academy of Business in Society)
The representative of MBA Center and Global Management Education Institute of Shanghai University (hereinafter as “MCGLMEI”) visited EABIS on March 6, 2009 (Friday). Prof. Gilbert LENSSEN, the President of EABIS and Mr. Simon PICKARD, the Director General hosted the representative of MCGLMEI. MCGLMEI was committed to apply the membership of EABIS in next step.
