Forty elite CEIBS (China Europe International Business School) MBA 2009 students were sworn in as ambassadors on September 9, eager to take on the important role of promoting the CEIBS brand from the perspective of actual customers using the product. By drawing on their experiences inside the classroom -- and within the wider CEIBS community -- the ambassadors will be a vital source of information for prospective applicants and the media.

During today's swearing in ceremony, MBA Programme Academic Director Prof. Lydia Price emphasized the key role ambassadors will play in supplying accurate information. An ambassador's role, Prof. Price explained, is to ensure that prospective applicants have access to the credible information they need to make an informed decision about enrolling at CEIBS.
Director of External Communications & Development (MBA 2002) Laurie Underwood also gave the group tips on effectively working with the local and international media, one of the roles they may have to fulfil. Marcom International Media Team Member Charmaine Clarke then spoke about the role student ambassadors can play in helping to get the CEIBS message out, globally, when next year's FT MBA Ranking is released.
The day's final speaker was MBA Programme Operations Director Yvonne Li who supplied vital information the ambassadors will need in their new role. This included an overview of the MBA programme, the general expectations that prospective students have of the programme, how employers view CEIBS graduates, and the importance of being a student ambassador.
The session concluded with the announcement of election results for the leadership of the student ambassadors group:
President - Chen, Yong (Kevin)
Events Team Director - Teo, Chun-Quang (Barry)
Online Communication Team Director - Bates, Drew
Media Team Director - Kan, Chia-Hui (Sarah)

Launched in 2005, the CEIBS MBA Student Ambassador Programme has played a significant role in student-related activities and media relations. It also serves as a key channel via which prospective students can access first-hand information on the school. Working within the context of promoting CEIBS to the wider prospective applicant community, the programme is highly regarded by students.
