The 9th Cross-Straits Forestry Expo – with a theme concerning the development of green industry and an eco-friendly society - kicked off in Sanming City, Fujian Province, on Nov 6, and Linpinhui, an online shop for forestry products, was launched during the opening ceremony.
Over 300 enterprises are attending the event - showcasing over 1,500 kinds of products - and they are expected to sign contracts worth more than 16.41 billion yuan. The expo – which continues until Nov 9 - is divided into three sections: a central exhibition area, Taiwan exhibition area and enterprises’ exhibition area.
The central area focuses on forestry, with displays related to forest ecology, forest industry and forest culture. The other two areas are available for companies to rent and display their products. The cross-Straits Forestry Expo is the only such event at the national level that focuses on exchanges across the Taiwan Straits related to the forest industry and forestry trade.
The annual event is sponsored by the National Forestry Bureau and Fujian Provincial Government, and it receives support from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the Ministry of Commerce.
