Representatives of more than 30 media and online media offices, including China Daily, China Daily Fujian bureau, ifeng.com Xiamen bureau, and Xiamen Net, met in the city of Xiamen, Fujian province, Dec 24 and 25 to see the city's charm.

The city presents its various aspects to the media, including urban planning, ecological progress, administrative innovation, community construction, and informatization to outline Xiamen's future orientation.

Ren Guoyan, Party secretary of the municipal planning bureau, explained Xiamen's focus on urban planning and the ecology. Ren said Xiamen plans to increase public services and public transportation to deal with the disruptions of traffic jams.

Kong Shuguang, the head of its information technology bureau, noted that Xiamen will integrate its networks, digital home gateways, and smart government in the future since information development suits the city's interests.

The municipal Party committee and municipal government began compiling the Beautiful Xiamen Strategic Plan back in May and the government sent 700,000 copies to local people, and collected 32,000 recommendations.
