Fujian province is en route to recording an overactive rainy season this spring.
Data from the meteorological authorities showed that about 340 mm of precipitation on average has dropped across the province in the past month, which is 83 percent more than in normal years.
The rainy season in Fujian usually starts in late April and lasts for two months, with an average rainfall of about 510 mm.
Fujian witnessed five rainstorms since the start of the monsoon, peeking on May 22 and triggering water level alerts in many rivers.
Rainy days are expected to continue in the province on Monday, according to the weather forecast; and strong rains are likely to strike anytime, authorities have warned.
