The chairman of Taiwan's People First Party on Monday called on businesspeople and people working in the cultural and creative industry from Taiwan and the mainland to cooperate to make money.
James CY Soong said that Taiwan has creative ideas while the mainland has a vast market, so both sides should collaborate for a win-win situation, at a symposium discussing business opportunities to be generated by a cross-Strait service trade agreement.
Soong said that both sides should be considerate and love each other with sincerity as they share the same destiny.
He appealed to all the people who attended the symposium to make efforts to unite as one family and achieve the Chinese dream.
The symposium was jointly held by two associations based on the island: the Association of Economic, Trade and Cultural and Creative Industry Communication and the Association of Cross-Strait Interchange.
Hsu Liang-yuan, vice president of the Economic, Trade and Cultural and Creative Industry Communication, said that the cross-Strait service trade pact will bring opportunities for companies from both sides, especially in city development, e-commerce and the cultural and creative industry.
