The Haixia, a famous high-speed roll-on roll-off passenger ship linking Pingtan and Taiwan, is being overhauled from Sept 1 to Oct 31, according to its owner.
The vessel is scheduled to be back in service on Nov 1, said the Haixia shipping company.
During the two-month span, passengers in Pingtan who want to travel to Taiwan by sea are still left with an alternative – to take the Natchan Rera, a Taiwanese liner – to commute between the two.
Natchan Rera will operate the Taipei-Pingtan route on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
As of last month, the two ships have together transferred more than 300,000 people in nearly three years.
