A forest fire was extinguished on Tuesday morning, after being alight for 21 hours near the Changjiang'ao Area in the northern part of Pingtan county.

The fire broke out at 11 am on Sept 15 and spread quickly in the form of small fires due to strong winds.
The fire department initiated an emergency plan, putting in a line of firefighters, fire engines and sprinklers. Soldiers marked out isolation strips outside the fire.
The fire was finally put out at 8 am, Sept 18.
No injuries were reported as of Sept 17, according to the Pingtan Times.
It was the biggest fire in the area in a decade, with an affected area of more than 600 mu (40 hectares), according to the local forestry authority.
The economic loss is being calculated, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
