The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone will construct its first ever 7-star hotel near Tannan Bay in the near future, according to its tourism plan.

The luxury hotel, occupying an area of 5,000 mu (333 hectares), is part of a 15-billion yuan ($2.4 billion) tourism complex project in the area with a goal of building an international tourism resort.

The project will include an ocean park, a recreation center featuring golf, a conference center and the 7-star hotel.
