The first Pingtan International Urban Sculpture Exhibition was held in Pingtan Sculpture Park of Pingtan, Fujian province, on Oct 10.

Featuring Pingtan elements, six sculpture works from seven sculptors from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan were the highlight of the exhibition. Pingtan’s features, including Pingtan’s modernization development and beautiful island scenery, were shown in these works.

Family Boat, a work by Zhao Meng, a famous sculptor, features the theme of family, with a boat and several boxes, which stand for Pingtan and different families, respectively.

The theme of Photosynthesis, a work by Yang Bolin, an artist from Taiwan, is vitality. Fishing villages of Pingtan showed the style of the modern era, abundant with hope. The development of Pingtan is full of vitality, according to Yang Bolin.
