The 13th biennial meeting of the Overseas Chinese Women Writers’ Association will open on Oct 25 at Xiamen University, Xiamen, Fujian province.
The meeting will be attended by more than 100 overseas writers, writer associations’ managers and 30 guests from all over China. The meeting will hold many literature seminars to discuss topics such as features of feminine literature and migrant literature.
Three famous writers – Yu Guangzhong, Xi Murong and Xu Xiaobin, will give four literature lectures. People registered with ID cards can listen to the lectures on Oct 25.
The meeting can help Xiamen people broaden their horizons and promote Xiamen’s cultural brand.
The Overseas Chinese Women Writers’ Association is a worldwide non-political and nonprofit organization, which was established in America in September, 1987. It now has more than 200 members, including Yan Geling, the author of the film – “The Flowers of War”.

Yu Guangzhong, a famous writer, was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu province in 1928. He was a professor in the department of Chinese language and literature in the Chinese University of Hong Kong from 1974-1985, and was honored as a “university poet” of Peking University in 2012. [Photo / xmnn.cn]
