Police in Fuzhou city declared on Oct 22 that nothing abnormal was found in the seasoning products sold at a local wholesale market.
Rumor previously had it that some merchants at the market in Taijiang District used food addictives that contained poppies in their seasoning products in a bid to entice more customers.
Police, with investigators from the local industrial and commercial bureau, health bureau, and food and drugs bureau, launched a joint investigation into those tarnished brands.
The results of the sampling suggested they were all up to the safety standard, with no toxic ingredients found, said police.
