The TV show targets unique, delicious food and captures its prepararion processes.
Over the three days, the crew filmed some of Pingtan's brand cuisines, such as fried rice cake, steamed Eastern Star grouper, soup with fish balls and so on.
The show also featured Pingtan's fishery culture by introducing Pingtan's stone folk dwellings and sent its crew to sea, fishing with local fishermen.
The show decided to come to Pingtan because of its distinctive food and improved traffic, said Wu Yaling, the program's producer.
Two passenger ferries commute between Pingtan and Taiwan on a 2.5-hour trip. They have transported more than 310,000 people together over the past four years.
"Some of Pingtan's natural resources and folk customs are similar to Taiwan, but there are many differences, too. We hope to get our Taiwanese audience to know about Pingtan more," said Wu.
