According to Strait News, 31 pairs of trains will depart from Xiamen Railway Station starting from February 2015, which has 80% of its renovation project completed. The renovations began in March of this year. Passengers of those trains can get on the trains at the Xiamen Railway Station, without having to take the time-consuming trip to Xiamen North Railway Station in Jimei District.

The 31 pairs of trains include 14 pairs of normal speed trains that are currently departing from the Xiamen Gaoqi Railway Station, 12 pairs of bullet trains from Xiamen to Fuzhou, 2 pairs of bullet trains from Xiamen to Nanchang, 2 pairs of bullet trains from Xiamen to Longyan and 1 pair of bullet trains from Xiamen to Fuding.

The presale tickets for trains departing from Xiamen Railway Station are not available for purchase yet.

From January 1st next year, bullet trains D2232/3, D2234 linking Xiamen North Railway Station and Chongqing (north) and bullet trains D6543/4 linking Xiamen North Railway Station and Taining County in Fujian province will be suspended.
