Fujian province intensified inspection on disciplinary violation of officials in December by stripping six of them of their Party memberships, Xinhua News Agency reported on Dec 25.
Lu Quanchang, former deputy director of Longyan Municipal People's Congress, was found to have taken bribes and engaged in adultery, the Fujian Party Disciplinary Department said on Dec 24.
He was expelled from the Party and deprived of his after-retirement benefits. The Party disciplinary watchdog has also confiscated his illegal gains and handed him over to the judicial authorities.
The Department also announced that two more officials had been expelled from the Party.
Chen Wenguan, former deputy General Manager of the Fujian Media Group, was found to have sought illegal benefits for others and taken bribes and been involved in adultery.
Guo Yue, former deputy director of Fujian Agriculture Department, was dealt with in similar bribe-taking cases.
On Dec 6, another three former officials in Fujian, including former Fuzhou vice mayor Shi Xiaoyu, Former China Strait Talent Market vice general manager Lin Guodong and former chairman of Fujian Media Group Shu Zhan, were stripped of their Party memberships for serious disciplinary violations such as bribe taking and adultery.
Shi stood trial at a court in Nanping city on Nov 20 on charges of taking 3.2 million yuan and 300,000 Hong Kong dollars in bribes when he assumed the titles of Fuzhou vice mayor and Putian vice mayor, all of which he denied. The verdict will be announced at a later date.
