A delegation of officials from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) in Fujian province on Jan 5 to investigate its development.
A 43-sq km area in Pingtan was recently included in the free trade zone (FTZ) in Fujian province. It will be officially inaugurated by March focusing on three sectors – high-tech, port economy and leisure tourism.
LI Dejin, director of the PCPZ’s administrative committee, explained Pingtan’s overall development plan, ecological preservation efforts and transportation progress to the guests. He also thanked GAC’s endorsement for Pingtan and hoped that it would continue to care about Pingtan’s FTZ construction.
The officials toured customs facilities in Pingtan and learned about its innovation in customs supervision and management measures. They also vowed to make more policies pertaining to the FTZ construction.
