A Buddhist monk from the Shaolin Temple in Quanzhou, Fujian province, succeeded in setting up a new world record for the longest running distance on plywood drifting on water on Jan 17.
Shi Liliang managed to run 120 meters, breaking the previous record held by himself by two meters.
He completed the stunt in an exhibition in Changsha, Hunan province at the invitation of a local television station.
Running on floating plywood is a huge challenge to a man’s sense of balance as well as physically, according to Shi.
His next goal is to run 150 meters, he added.
