The donations are from the Practical Education Foundation set up by former Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji in 2013 through sales revenue from his books, to help students from poor families and improve teaching facilities in China's less developed regions.
The Foundation providing aid for students in Fujian reflects Zhu’s love for children and his special feeling for western Fujian, which is an old revolutionary base area, said You.
Local Party committees and governments will increase investment in education, improve the school facilities and promote the equality of education resources in a bid to create a better life and studying conditions for rural students, he added.
It is You’s second visit to the Nanyan Primary School in five months, following a visit to the students and teachers at the school in August.
