'Two Sessions' delegates weigh in on Pingtan's development (Part II)

The Fifth Session of the Pingtan Committee of the 9th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Fourth Session of the Pingtan Committee of the 16th National People's Congress concluded on Jan 22 and 23, respectively.

The following is advice given by some representatives at the ‘Two Sessions':

Gao Xiaoyong, Li Zunyun (CPPCC members of Pingtan county)

Pingtan will strive to become a hub on the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and cement its role as a cross-Straits cooperation zone during the construction of the FTZ and an international tourism island.

Pingtan can cultivate the international sea transportation industry and encourage shipping enterprises to explore global markets by setting up overseas subsidiaries and service agencies.

Fu Xuelin, Li Zidian (CPPCC members of Pingtan county)

Pingtan should earmark a special fund or try attracting social capital for enhancing the infrastructure and logistics support facilities during the cross-boarder e-commerce development.

It will continue to make innovations in customs clearance and quarantine in order to facilitate customs procedures.

Yu Xiaoyan, Linyun, Chen Huaming (CPPCC members of Pingtan county)

Pingtan will do a better job promoting social civilization. And it starts with every individual who will help enhance the city's image.

Lin Xiong, Lin Hui (CPPCC members of Pingtan county)

Pingtan can blend more Taiwanese elements in the names of its roads, which will highlight its role as the only experimental area on the Chinese mainland open to Taiwan.

Lai Defang (CPPCC member of Fujian province)

During its construction of the free trade zone, Pingtan can absorb advanced experiences from Tianjin, Shanghai, Fuzhou and Xiamen while exploring a distinctive mode that fits its conditions.

Lin Zhiyun (CPPCC member of Fuzhou city)

Pingtan should increase cross-Straits communication in education. It will also try to attract more high-caliber professionals.
