A strong cold front is expected to hit Fuzhou, capital city of Fujian province, with a low temperature of 3 C on Feb 9.

According to the Fujian provincial meteorological observatory, the temperature is likely to vary greatly between day and night in the next three days in Fujian. The temperature in the afternoon will rise to 15 C.

Other cities in Fujian, including Nanping, Sanming and Longyan, will see the temperature drop to -2 C alongside frost and ice in the near term.

In addition, a force 7-8 gale hit the Taiwan Straits on the morning of Feb 9. Ships and fishing boats nearby are advised to take measures to prevent any potential hazard.
