The executive vice-governor of Fujian province, Zhang Zhinan, brought a provincial delegation to the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) in the provine, Feb 10 – 11, to study its development, projects, and construction sites such as Jidiao Wharf, Haitan Old Town, and the Taiwan Commodity Market.
Zhang remarked that Pingtan officials should take the development opportunity and become a “Homeland” for people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits as well as an international tourism site, while pointing to the importance of infrastructure and project quality, as well as the ecology and culture.
He urged local officials to come up with more projects suited to Pingtan’s own advantages, with more preferential policies and innovations, and called for more manpower in building a business site for Taiwanese investors, and more ways to increase cross-border e-commerce.
