This year’s potential yacht buyers are big enterprises, which are expected to account for 75% of the total buyers in 2015, and the rest of the buyers are expected to be yacht lovers, private enterprise bosses and yacht clubs, Mr. Ma added.
Most of the yachts are expected to be used for business meetings, a method favored by many enterprises and believed to be one of the most relaxing options for business discussions.
The rent costs for a yacht in Xiamen vary from 4,000 to 7,000 yuan per hour, which is about 10% higher than the rents in Sanya.
The yachts are usually rented out for business meetings and banquets.
A yacht purchasing-oriented supermarket is reportedly set to settle down in Xiamen this year, which will mainly sell various yachts worth less than 5 million yuan each, and a Sino-Europe yacht production base is expected to be built in Xiamen in the middle of the year.
The city is expanding its construction of berths for yachts this year, which are expected to boost sales of yachts and promote development of the yacht industry in Xiamen.
