Xiamen plans to increase the amount of public restrooms in its tourist attractions by 32 in the next three years, in addition to reconstructing 100 existing ones.

According to an announcement made by the Fujian Provincial Tourism Bureau, all tourist attractions are required to build a sufficient amount of rest rooms by the end of 2017. The tourist attractions’ relevant administrations are also required to take on the responsibility of managing the restrooms to make sure they are clean and are free to be used.

Xiamen currently has 394 restrooms throughout its tourist attractions. The regulation and supervision policies regarding the facilities are expected to be implemented soon, allowing travelers to enjoy greater comfort and convenience in the beautiful coastal city.
