Du Hongbo, a 15-year-old middle school student from Fuzhou, capital city of Fujian province, shared his ice diving experience in the Arctic Circle at a sharing session on March 29.

Du, as one of the youngest ice divers in China, took part in an ice diving activity and went to Murmansk in Russia together with another 10 dive enthusiasts in February. The activity was organized by a local leisure club.

"I went with my father this time and experienced ice diving twice with 30 minutes each time," he said, adding that his family is always in favor of him visiting different places.

The 1.76-meter tall boy also told a local news reporter that he would like to dive more and intends to take a diving-related job in the future.

Ice diving is a good activity to remind people to protect Mother Nature, he added.
